This involved getting the client to be clearer on their Direction and to ensure they were being understood by their team. They were also encouraged to help their team think through problems and issues on their own (rather than my client doing it for them). As a result the team was more effective n execution allowing my client to take a more Strategic view of the business.
helped a Facilities Manager to identify why they had difficulty with their reportees and why the relationship with their boss wasn’t working. We identified a series of actions/do differently’s (eg how to meetings, how to make requests) that they adopted each week and asked their colleagues to notice what changes they observed. A vast improvement in handling of their staff was reported.
helped a Private Client to review their career choices and how they fitted in with their life style choices. I helped them explore the different career paths available to them. The client was able to reconcile different needs in their work and home life and we identified a role that would incorporate these wants which they subsequently applied for and got.
As a facilitator I have:
• Worked with Leadership Teams to develop their vision and strategy and developed this with their direct reports to build commitment and produce action plans.
• Designed and facilitated Team Building sessions for Leadership/Senior Management Teams developing their ways of working and refining their roles. Eg when a team grinds to a halt through personality clashes it is often due to other issues such as unclear roles, confusing priorities, etc. I work with the Team to identify and address the underlying issues
• Designed and delivered change skills workshops to develop internal change agents as well as working closely with the change agent team during the programme.
• Worked with Programme / Project Teams over their Life Cycle eg
o At the Start of a Project: Designed and facilitated Team Building sessions for Programme / Project Teams to help them develop their plans, establish/refine roles, ways of working etc within the team.
o During the Programme/Project: Conducted reviews of Programmes / Project where things are not going so well to identify remedial actions. Also worked with Programme / Project Teams helping them embed changes
o At the end of a Project: Have conducted reviews to identify ‘best practice’ and lessons learned.
• Designed and run Ad hoc problem solving workshops eg exploring difficult problems to uncover their root causes, developing solutions and planning courses of action.
• Worked with recently merged organisations eg bringing management teams and staff together to get the best from both legacy organisations through creating new ways of working for the new organisation.
